Idk who would read this but it’s good to document my journey I guess. Is this a diary? Na. So for my entire career making games, I’ve been wanting to make a specific game similar to the minigame in Dark Cloud 2, called “Spheda.” In the main game, you go through a dungeon killing monsters and collecting loot, only to go back through the level and play golf. The treasure chests you opened previously were now obstacles, and what looked like really interesting backgrounds suddenly turned into precisely-angled walls that you could rebound the ball off of.

Now of course, with Dark Cloud 2 being an old game on the PS2, it’s a bit outdated now. Some mechanics were never really fleshed out, and others did not age well. That’s what I aim to address with this game I’m making. A modern Spheda (obviously renamed to avoid copyright lol) but way more than what it used to be. With modern tools, I believe I can knock this thing out of the park and make something I’m proud to call a GAME… Right now it’s not a game. It’s a prototype. Hey I’m just one guy ok?

I’ll make another post about the things I’m doing to ensure this game will succeed. But right now, I gotta go babysit for my sister.

in the mean time, help me think of a title for this! I’m thinkin “Broccippi”
